Soochow University's Department of Business Administration hosted the "2026 Asian Logistics Round Table (ALRT) & International Conference on Green Transport and Logistics Corridors (GTLC)" on September 11, 2026. Bringing together domestic and international scholars and industry experts in transportation, logistics, shipping, and sustainability, the event focused on key issues such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, green transportation, net-zero carbon emissions, and maritime logistics to jointly discuss the future development of global supply chains and the logistics industry.

Co-organized by the Department of Business Administration at Soochow University and the Asian Logistics Round Table (ALRT), along with co-organizers including the Department of Computer Science and Information Management / Department of Data Science (note: matching official institutional context) and the Big Data Analysis and Research Center at Soochow University, as well as The Global Logistics & Commerce Council of Taiwan (GLCT), the conference centered on the theme "AI, Digitalization and the Pathways to Net-Zero." It combined academic research with practical industry perspectives to build a cross-border, interdisciplinary platform for academic and policy dialogue.

The conference opened with remarks by Professor Kai-Jie Hu, Vice President for Research and Development at Soochow University, followed by four keynote speeches. Professor Britta Gammelgaard from Aarhus University in Denmark discussed socio-ecological resilience in extreme natural environments, sharing research on Arctic offshore supply ecosystems. Professor Paul Lee from RMIT University in Australia spoke on the sixty-year journey from handwriting to artificial intelligence and its implications for the future of logistics and higher education. Professor Cheng-Jie Chen from the Institute of Logistics Management at National Dong Hwa University focused on disruption management in transportation and logistics. Ming-Zhong Huang, General Manager of CTW Logistics Corporation, shared practical industry insights on transitioning from vision to sustainability through CTW's carbon reduction journey. Spanning international academic research and industry practice, the four speeches presented diverse perspectives on how the logistics and transportation sector addresses digitization and net-zero transformation.

In addition to the keynote speeches, the conference featured multiple paper presentations and academic exchanges. Scholars and researchers from home and abroad shared their latest research findings on topics including the AI chip supply chain, net-zero carbon policies, low-carbon logistics, modal shifts, green fuel hub ports, green and digital shipping corridors, smart maritime logistics, and cross-border transportation risk management. Through these diverse presentations and discussions, participants examined the impacts of AI, digitization, and decarbonization trends on the global transportation and logistics industry from various angles, sparking new ideas for future research and industry development.

Facing post-pandemic challenges such as geopolitical shifts, global supply chain restructuring, and climate change, maritime logistics and ports are no longer merely nodes for cargo flow; they are closely linked with supply chain resilience, regional economic integration, and industrial competitiveness. The "twin transitions" of digitization and decarbonization have also become key development directions for the global logistics and transportation industry. Through exchanges between international scholars and industry experts, the conference not only captured the forefront of international research but further promoted the connection between academic research and industry practice.

Notably, the conference has established partnerships with domestic and international academic journals, offering outstanding research papers the opportunity to be submitted to prominent SSCI and TSSCI journals, thereby extending the academic impact and research outcomes of the event.

The Department of Business Administration at Soochow University has long been committed to promoting international academic exchanges and industry-academia collaboration. The successful hosting of this international conference not only deepens Soochow University's connections with domestic and international academic and industrial partners, but also demonstrates the department's research capacity in crucial fields such as logistics, supply chains, digital transformation, and sustainable development. Moving forward, Soochow Department of Business Administration will continue to expand the international horizons of its faculty and students through international conferences, cross-school collaborations, and industry exchanges, enhancing Soochow University's visibility and influence in the international academic community.

(The Global Logistics & Commerce Council of Taiwan, GLCT)協辦。
