Li-Yu Chen is a professor at the Department of Business Administration, Soochow University. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Business Administration and Institute of International Business at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. Her previous positions include associate chairperson of the Department of Business Administration, the CEO and director of the Soochow Management Academic Foundation, etc. Dr. Chen’s research interests include corporate finance, strategic investment, and corporate governance. Her work has been published in more than ten journals on the National Science Council (NSC)’s list of recommended journals in the fields of management and finance (see publications for details), which include the International Business Review, Journal of International Management, R&D Management, International Review of Economics and Finance, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of Management & Organization, etc. She has been carrying out NSC research projects for many years and has received the Outstanding Young Investigator Award from the NSC in 2023. She is a five-time winner of the NSC's Special Outstanding Talent Award for Higher Education Institutions, three-time winner of the Outstanding Research Award, multiple winner of the Outstanding Research Award from the Soochow Management Academic Foundation, and winner of the 6th UMC Management Thesis Award. On teaching and service, Dr. Chen has instructed graduate students to participate in the TSC Thesis Award, in which they received an Excellent Paper Award for the Master’s Degree. She has also guided students in applying for and receiving University Student Research Grants. Dr. Chen was awarded by the Soochow Management Academic Foundation for Teaching Excellence, the Soochow University for Excellent Mentor, and twice for Enthusiastic Mentor. In terms of external service, Dr. Chen has served multiple times as peer reviewers for SSCI and TSSCI journals, NSC proposals, NSC University Student research proposals, Oral Exam Committee for the Taiwanese Academy of Banking and Finance, and Exam Drafting Committee for the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, etc.
